A New Adventure in Canada

Hey guys,

I know it has been awhile since I last posted, however as many of you know, I am in Canada for a semester abroad at Brock University in St. Catherine’s. I left Scotland on January 2nd and it definitely has been a busy few weeks. I am studying Tourism Studies instead of Events Management and I am enjoying the change of direction this course is taking.

I live in a village residence with three other flatmates, one of which is my best friend from back home. I absolutely love living by myself, i.e. without my family; it gives me a certain freedom, that I did not have back home. I enjoy cooking food, having friends over and having the ability to do things without someone constantly asking me what, where, when and with who?

I am thankful that my best friend, Cathy is also on the exchange because it has made the transition easier. It’s always nice to see a familiar face, especially when you are on the other side of the world.

I have made several new international friends who I met on an trip to Niagara Falls. They are from all over the world, like Germany, America, Sweden, England and the Netherlands. It is really nice to meet people who have the same interest as you, so I am excited to see what this semester brings.

I’ll be doing weekly blogs and will be posting every Wednesday. So stay tuned for more!
